He and Gail headed out to wait at the end of the driveway and read a book until the bus came...
When it arrived he was really excited to see all of the kids that he knows from last year, and to start a new year of school...

Sat down with his friend Phillip (you can see his good friend Kelsey sitting in the background), and took off for school...
When I got home from school today, I picked up the dogs and waited (out of the heat in my AC) with Cedar and Penny...
It was a good thing that we sheltered from the excessive ADK heat (it topped 80 degrees...sweltering), because the first bus the kids rode home on broke down, and a back-up had to come and pick the kids up on the road...Ben said that they all had a party on the bus while waiting for the replacement (insert mental image of frazzled bus-driver here)...
He got off the bus as happy (or happier) than he got on, ran across to share some details of his day, and we headed off to Lake Clear General for some cold drinks...It was a great first day, he had a fun time, and came home and READ to us...YAY!
