Our dog Zeke came home yesterday after a 10 day stay at High Peaks Animal Hospital. He got into some garbage and suffered from extreme intestinal blockage. He hadn't seemed in much discomfort, and being part lab, I would ordinarily have let him work it out (sort of a 1.5 entendre...), but as we were going to Maine for a week, and he was destined for the kennel, I brought him in...
It turned out that he needed emergency surgery, and would likely have died within the next 24 hours if we hadn't brought him in, as he had pretty severe internal damage and bleeding...but they're great at High Peaks, and 10 days later he is pretty much our boy Zeke...a little thin, a little tired, but happy to be home...
