Soccer and a playdate...

We went to our second soccer practice last night, and Ben did a great job...he has improved his ball control and had fun shooting, although he was pretty tired (and spent some time just standing around) by the time the kids had a scrimmage...


Luckily, he spent part of the time during the scrimmage in goal...here you can see his best "NONE SHALL PASS!" pose...of note is the fact that while in the net, no goals were scored on him...we won't discuss the number of shots on goal during his tenure...


Today was the hottest day ever in the Adirondacks...well, it was really hot...luckily, we had asked Ben's best friend, Jacob, over for a playdate. Jacob came over with his brother, Mathew, and his mom and new husky puppy (who is almost too cute, and was very sleepy during their entire visit)...


They had a great time noodling around in the water and enjoying some snacks...


Lots of the games involved sharks and monsters in the water...


Along with some general falling over and getting wet...


We ended up with PB&Js (as all playdates should), and a plan to meet again very soon...


Ben is now laying down on the couch behind me, watching "Scooby Doo" {insert finger quotes here, he's virtually asleep}...we'll get out and back into the water once it cools down a bit, and the sun loses some of its intensity...
