If you're not into puppy reports, probably better to skip down to the pictures at the bottom of the blog...
Penny pooped and peed right before bed at 11pm, and then slept with Gail and I last night...yes, we're softies, but we figured that her first night away from all of her siblings and mom, it would be nice to have lots of contact, and that we would be able to tell when she needed to go out...
She started wiggling a bit at 2am, so I got out of bed, and trundled downstairs to take her out...I took a bit too long in my sleepiness to put on my coat, and she peed a bit on the floor in our entryway...once I got her outside, she finished up the pee and went back to the door...I followed her lead, and she went back to sleep until a bit after 5am...
At 5:10am, she announced her need to go out again, and this time I got my coat on without putting her down, and she peed and pooped without any problems, and then played in the...wait for it...half-inch of new snow that had fallen since 2am!!!
We went inside to warmup after romping in the snow for a bit, and she started to chew, very gently, and push with her paws, on all of Gail's pink parts...looking for momma's milk...having none, we made her a nice bowl of puppy chow soaked in hot water...she rampaged through it like huns through a nunnery, gave a terrific burp (she's gifted in both burping and farting, really advanced for her age), and then we went in for a snuggle and kiss-session with Ben...
She loves Ben, and curled up in the crook of his neck with lots of kisses and happy noises for about 10 minutes, at which point she announced, in a multi-sensory fashion, that her breakfast had taken the expressway through her tiny puppy-parts...
We took her out again, and she, again, peed and pooped like she had received training in the subject from private tutors...
